Travel from Khabarovsk along the Golden Ring of Russia

The Golden Ring ... one of the most popular tourist routes among our compatriots and foreign tourists. And few people know that the brand appeared relatively recently - in the middle of the last century and immediately won love and recognition.

6 city tour

Our company offers a fascinating four-day tour of the Golden Ring from Khabarovsk through the capital of our country with a visit to 6 cities of the ring.

Now, let's take it in order.

The tour begins with Rostov the Great, one of the oldest cities in Russia. The pride of Rostov is the Kremlin or the Bishop’s House, built in the 17th century as the residence of Metropolitan Jonah. It is from here that our journey begins. By the way, do you know that you saw this building on screens and on TV, more than once or twice? It was here that the famous pursuit of adventurers was shot in the film by Gaidai "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes the Profession"!

Here is the most beautiful Assumption Cathedral with a belfry of 15 bells, differing in sound. They say that his first abbot was the father of one of the legendary Three Athletes. Guess who? That's right, Alyosha Popovich!

Another interesting excursion awaits tourists - to the Museum of Rostov merchants, located in one of the famous merchant estates.

After lunch in a cafe consisting of gourmet dishes of traditional Russian cuisine (like juicy dumplings with pike filling ?!), the group will leave for Lake Nero, located on one of the outskirts of Rostov. Here is the magnificent Spaso-Yakovlevsky Monastery, founded at the end of the 14th century by Bishop Jacob.

Travel to Yaroslavl

The next city on our way is Yaroslavl, founded in 1010. Incredibly, only in the historical center of the city there are almost one and a half hundred architectural monuments! It is not surprising that Yaroslavl is one of the 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in our country.

By the way, in Yaroslavl in 2013 a symbolic monument “Zero kilometer” of the ring was erected. The main attraction of the city is the elegant and richly decorated Church of Elijah the Prophet, whose composition is complemented by two magnificent snow-white tents. Unique rarities are stored here in the form of ancient frescoes and a carved iconostasis of the 17th century.

The epithet “unique” will be used more than once in the description of the tour, but for now, we note that in the Transfiguration Monastery of Yaroslavl, a manuscript copy of the legendary “Word about Igor’s Regiment” was discovered. In the museum-reserve at the monastery, tourists will get acquainted with ancient Slavic and Greek manuscripts.

Welcome to Kostroma

Kostroma. This city gained the greatest fame thanks to the Ipatiev Monastery, which is called the cradle of the dynasty of the Russian tsars of the Romanovs, in the main temple of which the first of them, Mikhail, was elected to the throne. And the monastery’s library contains many unique historical documents telling about the most ancient period of Russia.

After a city tour, guests will be taken to the village of Susanin near Kostroma - the birthplace of the famous hero of the war with the Polish invaders. Here is a memorial stone - the meeting place of Ivan Susanin with enemies. But that is not all. Tourists will be shown the local church, which has become an important fragment of Savrasov’s famous painting “Rooks Have Arrived”.

The legendary city of Vladimir

The next stop is Vladimir, one of the main cities of ancient Russia, once rivaling Kiev itself. In the local Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which houses the icon of the Virgin of Our Lady, for several centuries the wedding of the great Russian princes took place. Among the frescoes adorning the walls of the Cathedral, there are also works by the "icon painter of All Russia" - Andrei Rublev.

Travelers will also see the famous Golden Gate. This protective structure at one time withstood the onslaught of the troops of Batu Khan!

Tourists will have free time for walking around the city. During it, one can not help but visit the local theater, which has a 150-year history. It was here that one of the favorite actors of the Russians, Evgeny Evstigneev, began his career.

In conclusion, tourists will find a very interesting excursion to the suburbs of Vladimir - Bogolyubov, to one of the most beautiful temples in Russia - the Intercession on the Nerl. They say that it was on this spot that Prince Andrei, who was returning from Belokamennaya, was visited by the Virgin and ordered to build a temple here.

And where without Suzdal!

And finally, the last stop of the trip is Suzdal, which houses one of the oldest Kremlin in our country with a whole complex of architectural ensembles, built in the 10th century. The city is also famous for its Museum of Wooden Architecture with medieval buildings - merchant houses, peasant huts with interior decoration recreated to the details. Of course, all this is located in the open.

And in a museum called Schurovo ancient settlement, which will be one of the excursion routes, tourists will get acquainted with the reconstruction of the ancient Slavic village with its attributes.
